“Telluride may be known as a ski destination, but this tiny mountain town is also a hideaway culinary hot spot. Whether you want to catch a casual après-ski bite or a multicourse fine-dining meal, Telluride puts the lie to the idea that food can’t taste great at high altitudes”.
Kester goes on to name some of Telluride’s best restaurants including Alpino Vino (North America’s highest restaurant), the Cosmopolitan, New Sheridan Chop House and my all time favorite, the Butcher & Baker Cafe.
I think there are a few additional spots that deserve a mention. This includes La Cocina de Luz which serves fresh, organic Mexican food. They also make the best latte in town (I know that’s a strange title for a Mexican restaurant but they really have their espresso machine dialed!), and they also make ridiculously tasty home made ice-cream. Another great spot is ‘There’ bar, located on West Pacific Avenue (near Siam Thai). This fast paced, hipster joint is great for a cocktail and some shared plates.
