A strong high pressure has been looming over Colorado, and most of the west, for the past week and is set to stay here until the end of the month (although I just looked at the forecast and there is now something on the horizon at the end of the week). Maybe if you ask me my thoughts on this weather in a week the story will be different, but at the moment it is absolute heaven. Temperatures have been hovering in the balmy 40’s. The sun is shining and Telluride Ski Resort is skiing to perfection!
Last week was a little rough – a baby with the flu is not something I would wish on anyone. But I got the green light of freedom on Saturday morning, and I shot off in an upward direction, face basking in the sun, skis freshly waxed and ready to make some turns.
It was such a perfect weekend on the mountain. Revelation Bowl was groomed and skiing like a dream. We took a few laps on Chair 5, admiring the attractive new seating arrangement at Bon Vivant – deck chairs and umbrellas facing south west. Henry’s was also groomed. Same with Bushwacker, Plunge and my cruisy favorite, Lookout. Lunch at Guiseppe’s (Black Bean Saute of course) and we called it a day.
