The Viking Lodging is a sought after location for many visitors due to its affordability, location and amenities. The Viking is located on W. Pacific, just a stone’s throw from Clarkʼs Market (the bigger grocery store in town). Right across the street from the complex is the Wine Mine, Siam Thai and the always popular ‘There’ Bar. The Medical Center is within 200 yards or less of the complex. All of the shops, bars and restaurants are under 10 minutes walk away. The gondola is 3 blocks to the east and Lift 7 is about 200 yards to the west. If you donʼt feel like walking there is a free shuttle, the Galloping Goose, with pick-up/drops-off for passengers on the corner of the Viking Lodge (W. Pacific and S. Davis St.) It makes a loop through town every 20 minutes with plenty of stops at various locations along the way, including the gondola and Colorado Avenue.

Access to festivals & summer activities
The Viking Lodge is a great location for music festivals – Bluegrass, Blues and Brews, Ride Fest, Film, Jazz and more! A quiet stroll along the river trail or 5 minute walk along Pacific Ave, lined with brightly colored historic Victorian homes, will lead you to Town Park, located at the east end of town. During the Telluride Film Festival, venues are scattered throughout town and getting to them is easy from this centrally located complex. The beauty of the Viking Lodge during festivals is that it is not a very long walk, but just long enough to get out of the action when you need respite. There are numerous hiking and biking trails that can be accessed from the Viking Lodge.
There is a very short walk from the Viking Lodge to Lift 7, the Coonskin lift, roughly 200 steps depending on the length of oneʼs stride. The Lift 7 base area offers easy access to the ski runs and a full service ski shop, as well as a ticket window (open 9am – 4pm). If you prefer to take the free gondola up and over to Mountain Village or access the ski runs, it is a quick walk of about 6-7 minutes, or you can take the Galloping Goose from the street corner of the complex, which will make a stop at the gondola station every 15-20 minutes. As a suggestion for those who are too tired after a day of skiing/snowboarding or for beginner skiers and young children, you may find it easier to end your day by hopping on the gondola in Mountain Village over to Town of Telluride, taking advantage of the Galloping Goose for the ride back to the complex.
