While most of our condos at Lodging in Telluride provide communal parking spaces, finding a parking space in Telluride can prove to be challenging at the best of times. Come winter you might find yourself competing with every man and his skis for the prized car space closest to the gondola or lift 7. In addition to downtown Telluride’s often over crowded and over priced parking meters, here are some hot tips from your the local folk to try and avoid a stressful start to your powder days or summer hikes.

Parking is available in both Telluride and Mountain Village. We recommend you take advantage of the free gondola to travel between the two towns, not to mention taking advantage of the best local views at 10,500 ft.

Our advice is to make the most of the free transportation in Telluride and Mountain Village so you have convenient and easy access to all summer and winter events and activities. When parking in Telluride its good to keep in mind that the free Galloping Goose shuttle bus runs frequently throughout the day and can get you to most places. Stops are located every few blocks and the shuttle operates on a seasonal schedule. The Town of Mountain Village also provides free transportation within town limits and into the town of Telluride year-round.

Parking Options In Telluride

Free parking: All-day parking is available to visitors at the Carhenge parking lot on West Pacific Street. The lot is serviced by the regular Galloping Goose transit loop. Please note, you cannot leave your car here overnight.

Some side streets allow free two-hour parking, and a few back streets have unlimited parking if you don’t mind a bit of a walk.

During the winter months, be sure to observe street signs as some streets have no parking on certain days for snow clearing.

Parking Options In Mountain Village

If you want to be in close proximity to restaurants, bars, ski lifts and the generally buzz of Mountain Village, then there are a variety of paid garages and lots for you to choose from. If you are happy to take a short stroll to the village centre, you also have access to free parking.

Free parking: Free parking is on offer in several locations around the Village, including the Gondola parking garage, Meadows Run parking, Heritage parking garage, Town Hall Plaza parking, South Village parking center and North Village parking center. Please note that each location has difference parking restrictions, and may charge a fee after a certain period of free parking.

Public Overnight Parking

Overnight Parking is allowed in two garages – Gondola Parking Garage ($25 per night) and Heritage Parking Garage ($35 maximum in a 24-hour period).

RV Parking

There is a small RV lot on the west end of Telluride town. You may also park your RV during the daytime at the Gondola Parking Garage. We recommend contacting the local community service officer at 970.729.3455 for further assistance. Per Mountain Village law, you cannot spend the night in your RV in Mountain Village.
