I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

We’ve all heard the familiar childhood rhyme. There’s something wildly nostalgic about ice cream, especially as a vacation tradition. Reuniting and re-connecting with loved ones over a few scoops of the sweet stuff is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening in Telluride.

However, there’s definitely a difference between good ice cream and great ice cream. Good ice cream is fine for a night in, but great ice cream is well worth the splurge and a visit to a local dessert shop. Choosing your flavor, toppings, and dessert vessel is part of the experience!

If you’re ready to satisfy your sweet tooth, check out these Telluride sweet shops that serve up the best ice cream in town:

You can’t beat the classic combo of pizza and beer, which is that High Pie Pizzeria does pretty well, but pizza and ice cream is a pretty close second. While we realize that recommending a pizzeria for ice cream sounds a bit strange—hear us out. Enjoy your fill of High Pie’s finest pies but be sure to save room for the famous ‘Faceplant’.

This signature dessert is made from your choice of a warm deep-dish chocolate chip cookie or brownie that’s covered in premium vanilla ice cream and decadent toppings. Best for sharing (unless you aren’t feeling generous, and we wouldn’t blame you!), this ice cream dessert is the perfect rewards after a busy day exploring Telluride.
